¶ MVP Hunting Guide
MVP monsters are among the most challenging PvM encounters in BGS Classic.
Successful MVP hunting requires preparation, coordination and an understanding of the specific MVP being hunted.
⚡ BGS Modified: MVP HP, drops, skills, maps and other mechanics may differ from standard Ragnarok Online. Always verify the current BGS implementation before hunting.
¶ Before Hunting an MVP
Before starting an MVP hunt, prepare:
- Appropriate equipment
- Suitable cards
- Consumables
- Recovery supplies
- Required skills
- Knowledge of the MVP
- A suitable hunting location
- An escape or recovery plan
Do not assume that a character capable of ordinary PvM is automatically prepared for MVP hunting.

¶ MVP Cards
MVP cards are removed from BGS.
MVP monsters remain available for hunting, but MVP cards are not part of the BGS card system.
Do not plan an MVP hunt around obtaining an MVP card.

Before engaging an MVP, learn as much as possible about the target.
Consider:
- Element
- Size
- Race
- Defensive characteristics
- Offensive abilities
- Status effects
- Special skills
- Summons
- Movement
- Location
- Drop sources
Use the available in-game information commands where appropriate.

Different classes may perform very differently against different MVPs.

¶ Solo MVP Hunting
Solo MVP hunting gives you complete control over your character and strategy.
Advantages can include:
- No loot sharing
- Full control of the fight
- Flexible hunting times
- No dependence on other players
However, solo hunting also means you must handle the entire encounter yourself.
Before attempting a solo hunt, make sure your character can:
- Deal enough damage
- Survive the MVP
- Manage HP and SP
- Recover from mistakes
- Handle the MVP's special mechanics
¶ Party MVP Hunting
Party hunting allows players to combine different class roles.
A party may include:
- Damage dealers
- Support
- Healers
- Front-line characters
- Utility
- Crowd control
Party hunting can make difficult encounters more manageable.

Before engaging, prepare your consumables.
Depending on your class and build, this may include:

BGS may apply specific skill restrictions to MVP maps.

¶ RNG and MVP Drops
MVP drops are affected by RNG.
A specific item is not guaranteed after a fixed number of kills.
For example, a drop chance of 1% does not guarantee an item after 100 kills.
Each applicable drop attempt is determined by the game's random process.
A long period without a successful drop can occur naturally.
¶ MVP Competition
Multiple players or groups may hunt the same MVP.
When competing for MVPs:
- Follow the BGS rules.
- Do not exploit unintended mechanics.
- Do not use prohibited automation.
- Do not abuse bugs.
- Respect applicable PvP or gameplay restrictions.

Because BGS modifies item availability and sources, verify current drop information before farming an MVP based on external databases.

After several hunts, consider whether the MVP is actually worthwhile for your character.
Track:
- Time spent
- Number of kills
- Consumables used
- Deaths
- Other drops obtained
- Competition
- Travel time
A valuable drop does not always mean the hunt is efficient.

¶ Underestimating the MVP
An MVP can require significantly more preparation than ordinary monsters.

Maximum damage is not useful if the character cannot stay alive.

Running out of consumables can turn a successful fight into a failed hunt.

RNG does not guarantee a reward after a specific number of kills.
