Cards are some of the most valuable and sought-after drops in BGS Classic.
Because BGS uses a low-rate environment and modified card availability, card farming requires patience, preparation and accurate information.
⚡ BGS Modified: Card availability, monster sources and other mechanics may differ from standard Ragnarok Online. Always verify the current BGS implementation before farming a card.
Before spending hours farming a specific card, confirm:

Use the in-game commands:
@whodrops
@mobinfo
@whereis
These commands can help you determine:
Do not rely solely on an external Ragnarok database.
Not every standard Ragnarok card is available on BGS.
The Wiki currently documents several disabled cards.
For the current card restrictions:
This is especially important for valuable cards. Always confirm availability before beginning a long farming session.
Card drops are affected by RNG (Random Number Generation).
A card with a particular drop chance is not guaranteed after a fixed number of kills.
For example, if a card has a 1% chance:
Each individual drop attempt is determined by the game's random process.
A player can obtain a card early, while another player may go much longer without receiving one.
A common mistake is treating the drop rate as a counter.
For example:
"The card is 1%, so I should get one every 100 kills."
That is not how RNG works.
The probability applies to each applicable drop attempt rather than creating a guaranteed reward after a certain number of kills.
A good card farming target should be evaluated based on more than the card itself.
Consider:
A monster with several valuable drops can be more attractive than a monster that only has one valuable card.
Your effective farming efficiency depends on how many attempts you can make over time.
Consider:
Kills per hour
Drop attempts per hour
Consumable costs
Downtime
Travel time
Other valuable drops
The goal is not simply to kill a monster quickly, but to maximize the number of useful farming attempts you can make.
Cards are not always the only source of value.
While farming a card, you may also obtain:
Keep valuable drops instead of immediately selling everything to NPCs.
An item or card may be worth significantly more to another player than its NPC selling value.
Before selling a potentially valuable card:
BGS uses a modified economy, so player value and NPC value should not be treated as the same thing.
You do not always need to farm a card because it is expensive.
A card may be especially valuable if it provides a significant improvement to your own character.
Consider:
A card that improves your character can sometimes be more valuable than its Zeny value.
Profit-focused card farming should consider the entire farming process.
Track:
Do not judge a card farming method based only on the card's listed price.
Popular card farming locations may attract other players.
Competition can reduce your effective farming efficiency.
When competition is high, consider:
MVP cards are removed from BGS.
MVP monsters remain available, but their MVP cards are not part of the BGS card system.
For MVP information:
Several cards are disabled or restricted on BGS.
Examples include cards listed in the current BGS item restrictions.
Before farming any card:
When testing a new card farming target, record:
Testing multiple sessions gives you a more realistic understanding of the farming method.
Card farming can involve long periods without a drop.
A dry streak does not automatically mean:
RNG can naturally produce long periods without a successful drop.
1. Confirm the card is available
→ Check Important Items
2. Identify the monster
→ Use @whodrops, @mobinfo and @whereis
3. Check the farming location
→ Consider spawn, travel time and competition
4. Prepare your character
→ Equipment, skills and consumables
5. Farm consistently
→ Track kills and time
6. Evaluate your results
→ Compare total value against your farming costs
7. Decide whether to continue
→ Adjust your target when the farming method is inefficient
Card farming is fundamentally RNG-based.
A card may drop quickly or may take a very long time to obtain.
Do not assume that a specific number of kills guarantees a card.
⚡ Low card rates are not guaranteed drop counters. Each applicable drop attempt is determined by RNG.
